There also seems to be a stigma surrounding online learning as well which can easily lead you to lose pride in your studies and feel that it is not worth it to keep going. But I am here to affirm that it is worth it to keep going and that you are valid and worthy as an online college student.
Here are 5 positive affirmations to always keep in mind as an online college student.
1. My education is valid and of quality!
Yes, as an online college student, your studies are just as valid and of quality as your traditional student counterpart. Do not give into the false notion that online learning is not quality and that you are not learning anything.
Since in many respects, online classes are what you make them, you hold the most power to foster this validity and quality so keep giving it your all. Your education is valid!
2. I will finish and do well in all of my classes!
I understand that sometimes the finish line can seem so far away as an online college student, but the more you maintain momentum and keep at it, the closer you will be to making that victorious leap.
The going may be tough right now, but you will finish and do well in all of your classes. Keep going, don't give up!
3. There is help for me!
Being an online college student can be lonely, and this can easily lead you to feel that you have no help when problems arise. But this is not true, you have help, you're just in a position where it takes more effort to find it.
You may be navigating your studies independently, but you do not have to do everything alone. Always keep in mind that there is help for you and act accordingly.
4. I am a valid component of my school's student body!
Sure, you may not live on campus or always have access to a lot of the resources as that of traditional students, but you are still a valid component of your school's student body.
Much like everyone else, you are paying for your education, being graded on your performance, and can be penalized for academic dishonesty. From all that alone, you are definitely a contributing member of your school's student body and this should always be taken with great pride.
5. I deserve breaks, rest, and downtime!
In online classes, it can be easy to get caught up in the grind of getting things done, but you must remember that you are deserving of breaks, rest, and downtime. Your academics are important, but your personal life, mental health, and physical health are just as important.
You are human so don't feel guilty about prioritizing rest. You deserve it!

In the end, affirming that your education is of quality while keeping in mind that you are worthy as an online college student is truly what matters. I understand that sometimes the going gets tough, but you should always keep in mind that you have the resources to keep going and complete your studies.
Hopefully, these affirmations were able to help you fuel your motivation back into motion. And please, do not hesitate to refer back to this post during times of uncertainty. Happy studying!
